Georgia woman arrested for identity theft and theft of property

Auburn, Ala. - On Aug. 28, 2024, Auburn Police, with assistance from the Dekalb County Sherrif's Office in Georgia, arrested Branelle Lanee Day, age 31, from Norcross, Georgia, on warrants charging her with two counts of identity theft and theft of property fourth degree.

The arrest stems from Auburn Police receiving a report involving fraudulent bank transactions on Aug. 2. Police met with a victim who reported their bank account information was used to conduct fraudulent transactions at multiple locations during a time period spanning from late July to Aug. 2.

Branelle Lanee Day was developed as a suspect, and after further investigation, arrest warrants were obtained. Day was located in Georgia by Dekalb County Sherrif's deputies, and she was arrested in obedience to the warrants.

After waiving extradition, Day was transported to the Auburn Police Department on Aug. 28, and the warrants were executed. Day was the transported to the Lee County Jail and held on a $11,000 bond.

All defendants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
